Custody for Youth
I think that if you are youth you not put in jail right away. I think that it’s not fair because you can’t come up with a different punishment for him/her. It should not be the last resort for youth.
I say that because it’s not fair, just because they make one mistakes you send them to jail or juvenile. You have to give them a chance to see if they can change, you never know it till try because it could be good for them and you. Maybe if someone went to jail but came out worse than they were, and then they would commit more crimes, what are you going to do just send them back the jail?
To send someone to jail it cost about 100,000 and that is a lot of money and what if there is 20 people that needed to be put in jail it would cost 200,000 and then the government would make higher tax, we have to pay it so it’s really not fair for us and the people that their putting in jail that is what it seems like to when I think about.
It could be bad for some people. What if they join a gang or kill someone in jail because there are people that do that. What is they maybe commit a crime again because they would probably would do something like that and we don’t need any more crimes committed here and anywhere else.
There are other solutions, you can just put them on probation or give them strikes. You can say if they do something bad you give them a strike and if the get 3 strikes they go to jail or jail you go on probation. That’s what I think should happen to the youth.
